| TEE PRACTICE (Josh Zander) | |||
|
Do you hit fat shots, toe shots, slices, pulls or take deep divots? Do you find
it easier to hit your wedges that your woods? Do your arms and wrists hurt
during or after a practice session? If any of this sounds like you, you can
benefit from hitting balls off a tee while you practice. The aforementioned
errors occur because your swing plane is too steep. Hitting balls on a tee will
help you flatten out your plane. The higher the tee, the better. In fact,
taking swings about a foot above the ball before hitting it off the tee will give
you the sensation of a flatter swing plane. Hitting off a tee will also allow
you to practice longer sparing you the jarring effect that mats can have on
your arms. Hitting off of a tee is also beneficial when you are working on a swing change. At first, it is more important to try to position your club correctly without focusing on the outcome of the shot. Human nature leads us to want immediate results. Hitting off a tee is more forgiving allowing you to focus on the actual swing adjustment without the distraction of the ball flight. |
