Golf Swing

CHECK YOUR ALIGNMENT (Todd Lawton)
Let's look at alignment and how the flight of the golf ball relates to the intended target.

There are a series of motions that create the parallel lines that are the essence of the golf swing.

First choose the target, and then set up two clubs in parallel lines pointing at that target with the ball in the middle.

Once you line up to the ball, you should be in a position where the club face is square to the target. As you move away from the ball, the shaft should remain parallel to the target line.

As you take the club to the top of your swing and then back down toward the ball, the shaft will continue to be parallel to the target line.

Once you reach the ball, make sure that the club face is square to the target and then make solid contact.

When you follow through the ball, remember to keep to the shaft parallel through the back swing with your right heel pointed toward the target and shaft angle once again square to the target line.

By keeping the shaft parallel throughout your swing, you should be able to line up your shot with the intended target.
