This 'EYE' function is what I call a 'Secondary Absolute' meaning it is important.
The 'Eyes' are the 'Captain of the Golf Club Ship' while the Hands are the 'Navigators'. More about 'GRIP' later.
QUESTION: How many things can you see at the same time? Can you see the Golf Ball and the Target PIN at the same time? Of course not. So what happens first? Do we strike the Ball first or watch the Ball go in the Hole First?
ANSWER: ONE. We strike the Ball first so we must accomplish every task necessary to get this job done. The 'Captain Eyes' provide 80% to 90% of all the 'Brain Data' gathered in order to make the 'Full-Swing Routine' happen, so we had better use them to their best advantage. What we see well we can touch or strike well and we certainly want
to get the 'Screws', the 'Sweet Spot' or 'Center Of Mass' onto the 'Butt of the Ball'! So we had better keep a good Eye on it.
I often use the analogy that my Ball is like a small white-footed mouse sitting on the tee. It is not at all comfortable being there and is about to dart off. In order to give it a swat, I need to keep a very close Eye on its backside if that is where I want to strike it.
There are ONLY two distinct physical objects inside the Golf Course that warrant our attention during our PreSHOT, Swing and PostSHOT ROUTINES. They are what I call the 'Visual Reference Balance Points #1 and #2'. The BALL is VRBP #1 and the PIN is VRBP #2. If we 'See The Ball Come Off The Clubface' and then allow our Turning Shoulders to take our Head around to the Target, VRBP #2, we will finish our 'Forward Swing' looking 'Dead At The Stick'.
In this manner our 'Captain Eyes' contribute significantly to 'Balance' which is a primary concern for any Golfer. We must 'Swing In Balance'.
Play Golf 'BALL - PIN' every stroke whether it is 'Long or Short', whether it is a Driver or a Putting Stroke.
