| IMPROVING YOUR SHORT GAME: CHIPPING (Chris Dupill) | |||
|
When setting up to hit a chip shot, you want
your feet close together (short shot, small stance).
Your hands should be positioned ahead of the club head (the hands lead the club head through the shot). The shot is a pendulum stroke using just the shoulders and arms, much like putting. As with putting, you want the clubface aimed at the target and accelerate through the ball toward the target. You never want to decelerate through the shot. You will have to practice this shot to develop a feel for distances. However, the better you get at this shot the more strokes you'll save! Good luck with your game and remember, you play this game to have fun!!! If you want to continue to improve your golf game, set up an individual lesson today. |
