GET ON LINE TO LOWER YOUR SCORES
Is your golf ball reaching the target in as few shots as possible? If you answer no, it could be as simple as aligning the clubface to the target line correctly to reach the target sooner. Golf is a target game, understanding the target line concept is a key ingredient if you want to lower your golf scores.

In other sports (bowling, billiards, basketball, shooting a gun or arrow) you stand facing the target while performing. Positioned on the target line with the object between you and the target. But in golf, you stand to the side and can't watch the target until after the shot. In golf, the target line is a reference point to show how the clubface should sit on the ground and how the body should be aligned. Poor alignment in golf will cause you to compensate during your swing by making an incorrect move to redirect the ball to the target.

To aim correctly the clubface should form a "T" with the target line and the body Will be on a line parallel to the target line. The body line is on a line called parallel left."

Here are a few tips to help you get aligned, try this on the practice range. Set a club on the ground to determine the target line, line another club parallel to it (the body line) Grip the club, set the clubface on the target line, the score lines should form a "T" to the target line, or be perpendicular.

While you are in a correct address position, aimed correctly, turn your head to look down the target line. Your left shoulder (right handed golfer) should not be visible easily - only through your peripheral vision. If you see your shoulder you are aimed to the right of the target. You have to almost look over or around the shoulder to see the target, depending on how far right you are aimed. Once you are aligned correctly you will have a whole new perspective on the target. A majority of golfers aim to the right of the intended target. This will cause the ball to go to the right of the target unless you try to redirect it, which will cause inconsistent shots.

Establish a good set up routine, this includes your alignment. This is a basic fundamental of the game that will create a strong foundation for a swing that will produce better shots more often.
