WHY WE LOSE DISTANCE (Susie Berning)
Let's talk about why we lose distance as we gain in years old. One is the fact that as we age we lose flexibility and the second is the fact that we lose muscle mass. To lose both or just one of these elements causes us to lose club head speed and the ability to hit the ball solid, thus losing distance.

The first and easiest thing to do is to go to a softer, more flexible shaft, plus a little bit lighter golf club. The next move to make is to begin an exercise program that includes flexibility exercise targeted toward your golf moves and muscles. Weight training is also a help so you will be able to feel and be more athletic at the set-up and during the entire golf swing.

If you don't wish to do any of the above, I will give you one other choice. Go practice and hit golf balls for at least 4 to 5 hours a day. I firmly believe that with a little bit of effort in the proper direction you will start to see improvement and then want to do more work toward having more fun playing this wonderful game.
