| PENDULUM MOTION (Sarah Bakefelt) | |||
|
While chipping around the green the motion is very much like a putt. The only adjustment you make in your stance is to put about 60 to 70 percent of your weight on your target foot and play the ball back in your stance. If you center the ball first and then lean on your target foot this has now placed the ball back in your stance. Now just make a pendulum motion with your hands, arms and shoulders keeping your wrists quiet. From the waist down you want to be still. So if you retain your weight on the left foot as you swing back this will stop any weight shift (which you do not need for this short shot.) Now just think about the back of your left hand going to target. Where ever the back of the left hand (RH golfer) ends up that is where the ball will go. One last thought before you hit the ball. Listen for it to hit the green before you look up. You will find doing this will keep the ball more on target. Look at the Good and Forget the Bad. |
