GREEN-SIDE ROUGH SUCCESS CHECKLIST
  • The longer the grass, the more likely the grass will wrap around the hosel, delofting the club.
  • The grass trapped between the clubface and the ball will reduce spin, and the ball will roll more upon landing.
  • Move your hands down on the club, and hold it slightly firmer than normal.
  • Place the ball forward in your stance, and hinge your wrists to produce a steeper angle of approach to the ball.
  • You can successfully play this shot like a green-side bunker shot when the grass is extremely thick. Remember to follow through and accelerate the club through the grass.
  • Trust your swing and allow the club to propel your ball to your target.
