From Jake,
golfer: |

Are there any golf "colleges"
where you can try to learn to become a touring professional? One that
would focus on your game and not on teaching or business management. Only
playing schools I see are a few days long. Thank you. |

"To Jake: A good instructor is the person that can
teach you to become a golf professional if you have the capability.
There are no schools that I can think of as it takes years to do
this."

"Dear Jake Power,
there are no schools for that. You could play mini-tour events or
local open tournaments. These require an entry fee, but you can
really develop and test your game. Good Luck."

"Yah, it's called the school of hard knocks!!! Just
kidding. Seriously, there aren't any colleges to my knowledge that
just teach you to be a touring professional. All of the touring
professionals have either played collegiate golf or started on
playing what are called mini-tours. The magazine Golfweek
lists all the tours and their results. From there, they went on to
the PGA Tour qualifying school (tournament) and earned their
playing privileges." - Peter

You might run across our ads in publications like Golf Digest. We
are located in Mount Pleasant, a suburb of Charleston, SC, at a
very pristine club, Charleston National. Check us out at
www.americantourschools.com. We offer long term schooling with
dynamic results. I look forward to hearing from you." - Michael
