From Chris, golfer:
At the beginning of each round I start out tight. However, I hit the ball straight, far, and on target. But as I start to loosen up, I don't make as good contact and my shot starts going to the right. What causes this? How can I fix it?
PGA/LPGA TEACHING PROFESSIONAL RESPONSES:
Florida
"With the little bit you told me, the only thing I would suggest is that you make sure you are holding onto the club with your left hand (if you are a rightie) at the top of your back swing. Sometimes when we think we are loose, we are just letting go of the club at the top and re-grabbing it, which could make it go anywhere. Check this out." - Pat Kimball, Teaching Professional
Illinois
"As you get loose and comfortable, you start to over swing and hit it too far. Maintained the tight body tempo and you will be just fine. You must also finish every round with the intent, concentration, and vigor with which you started it." - Scott Mayer, Teaching Professional
