From Jason, golfer:
I'm interested in PGA School and don't really know how to find one close to me or how to get in? Would you please direct me in the right path?
PGA/LPGA TEACHING PROFESSIONAL RESPONSES:
California
"Jason - There is the PGA Club Professional division where you train to become a professional at a course, range, or approved facility and know merchandising, cart operations, management, etc., or the PGA Qualifying School where you try to earn playing privileges on the Tour. This is the School you hear most about as it is very grueling 5 day test of nerves. Go to the PGA Website for more info. Good Golfing." - Kati Biszantz, Teaching Professional
Florida
"You can find all your answers at WWW.PGA.COM." - John Brott, Teaching Professional
Missouri
"Jason, call the PGA Headquarters and they will send you information on all of the schools and their location, or go to a local pro in your area and he or she will also have that information. PGA of America phone is:  561-624-8400.  They have the answers to all of your questions."
- BJ Miller, Teaching Professional
Nevada
"Call the PGA of America or see you closest Head Pro and he or she will provide you with both the number and likely some good advice too." - Karl Fischer, Teaching Professional
North Carolina
"I would contact the PGA of America and ask them about the schools that offer the Pro Golf Management Programs. There are several schools around the country that offer these programs."
- Ben Hynson, Teaching Professional
South Carolina
"Jason: I assume that you are a high school senior and looking to become a PGA Professional. There is a program accredited by the Professional Golfers Association of America (PGA) called the Professional Golf Management Program (PGM). http://www.pga.com/FAQ/membership/managment_program.html. Take a look at this site to find out more about the program and the institutions that have programs.  A college degree will, in the near
future, become a minimal requirement within our profession.  These programs offer someone the ability to receive a college education, while focusing their course of study on the daily operation of operating a
successful golf facility. If you have already graduated from high school, I would recommend that
you enter the Golf Professional Training Program (GPTP).  This program is conducted by the PGA and is a combination of home study, practical work experience, and centralized testing.  You can get more info on this at the same website. If you do not fit into any of these categories, please let me know.
I'll try to help you sort out where you stand, and what avenues might be available to you. Best of luck."

"Jason: There are lots of golf schools run by PGA pros. Check the internet for golf schools. Also how far are you from Portland? Jerry Mowlds, a certified teacher like me, teaches there. He is excellent."
